Intervolve Credit

1. Intervolve Foundation & Intervolve Credit

By developing and implementing integrated programmes together with partners, Intervolve Foundation aims to reach its goals. In the recent past Intervolve Foundation used loans from (financial) partners who do not support the foundation as such, but directly support a specific part of the programme.
In these cases Intervolve Foundation is not in the position to do both the financial management of the full programme and also involve guarantee parties, financing partners and sponsors in this completely integrated programme. To offer a solution to this, the foundation decided to handle by itself the external financing of specific parts of the programme, and with that offer a complete product and keep the processes under control.

The added value of this is that the guarantee party participates in a clearly defined project which leads to sustainability of the full programme and its separate components. This enables this party to create a bigger basis and create more support within its own organisation. Intervolve Foundation decided to establish Intervolve Credit to be able to execute this in a professional way. The foundation is the only shareholder of Intervolve Credit.

2. Intervolve Credit B.V.

Goal
Providing loans and micro credits against mild conditions to parties with whom Intervolve Foundation has a relationship or wants to establish a relationship on urban programmes. With this tool Intervolve Credit wants to play an important role in promoting housing production and economic development in developing countries.

How
By attracting financial means, loans and guarantees from housing corporations, city municipalities and private parties. When it comes to guarantees Intervolve Credit will recruit a loan against mild conditions from a Dutch financing party together with a guarantee for commitment to pay rent and the pay off.

Intervolve Credit sets the criteria, judges on the requests through the input of a planning & credit committee and, after the approval of the board, finally provides the organisation in the developing country with a loan. Intervolve Foundation will then be responsible for management of the project in cooperation with the financing parties.

Together with the financing parties agreements are made on the goals, time period and expectations on profit of the rent. They can also be participating in the planning & credit committee to judge on the funding request.

3. Target areas

Housing
Loans can be provided to corporations and organisations which started as part of Intervolve programmes and which contribute to the realisation of affordable and sustainable housing and the improvement of the living environment.

Economic development
In order to be able to set up programmes for creating employment, Intervolve Credit provides (micro) financing to start up economic activities of either groups or individuals in Intervolve's urban project areas.

4. Own Haven Housing Association

Intervolve is closely involved with the South African housing corporation Own Haven Housing Association which was established in cooperation with the Dutch housing corporation Eigen Haard. For the years to come Own Haven has developed an ambitious investment plan. This plan will be locally financed, and development funding from the Netherlands will be attracted. Intervolve Credit supports the management and supplies a large amount based on Eigen Haard's guarantee.
