For this programme, Intervolve offers support to the human rights organisation SERAC in Lagos, Nigeria. LSHI aims to resettle the residents of the areas Badiya and Maroko evicted by government and the reduction of urban poverty through the enhancement of the economic base, the improvement of health conditions and the creation of a liveable urban environment. The program includes the construction and or renovation of houses and the establishment of housing management structures.  Click here to download the factsheet of Lagos Social Housing Initiative.  The SERAC newsletter 2, 2010 from page 12 onwards gives a report on the succesful completion of the training (developed by Intervolve) for 70 youth. They have been trained to work on housing and constuction and are now ready to start working. |
